Hi Liz! Thanks for the link. The list of all Canadian universities on Twitter can be found here: http://www.kinaze.org/universites-canadiennes-sur-twitter/ It’s in French but I think it’s pretty straight forward. I now need to classify them according to their number of followers!

It’s very interesting to compare how all universities around the world use Twitter.

I wonder if you’d thought about putting this dataset and some of the others on Google Docs to let others play with the data more easily and maybe chooose some trusted people who could help you update it?

Hi Ali,
No problem. I haven’t included number of students just because the twitterleague usually does this for me. But the service is down at the moment so I can’t provide them. Once its up you can find it here http://www.lizazyan.com/university-twitterleague/
The webteam variable is really so universities can get in touch with other webteams in other universities to exchange ideas or best practices. Its something useful to know and have to improve services. However most people don’t know or don’t communicate with colleagues across the sector and its a great shame. Hope this helps.

Hi Phil,
I totally understand what you mean. I would do it if I had the time. Unfortunately this is all I can afford to do at this point of time. All of the data has been extracted manually and it takes alot of time to gather them. But should I have more time in the future, I will seriously consider providing that data. Thanks for your feedback.

Very interesting. It would be nice to see a “views per video” column, since it provides an interesting view onto the data.

Birmingham City University’s Twitter feed is at @myBCU (there was a previous account @brumcityuni)

The School of Media has been running a Twitter feed at @bcumedia for some time

There are also university accounts @dis_connect @bcualumni and @screenmedialab and the student magazine is @SpaghettiJunct

And then there are academics – I’m @paulbradshaw and colleagues include @jonhickman @daveharte @dubber – far too many others to mention.
